Unit5   Dinner’s ready 

Part A Let's learn (The 1st lesson)

 

一.Teaching objectives:

 

1.  Students can listen, speak, read the new words: chicken,beef, noodles,soup,

       vegetables and the sentences:What would you like? I’d like some…

2.  Students are able to use the words and sentences in certain contexts correctly.

3.  Students can develop the consciousness of healthy diet.

Key points: Be able to master the key words:chicken,beef, noodles,soup,

          vegetables and use the sentences:What would you like?I’d like

          some…

Difficult points: The pronunciation of vegetables, chicken.

             Use the words and sentences in certain contexts correctly.

        PPT, word cards, food pictures, apron.

五.Teaching procedure

 

1.  Warm-up

Teacher greets students and singsIf you are happy. Students do the

corresponding action and singAn apple a day.

(设计意图:运用全身反应法使学生跟着欢快的自编指令音乐,做着相应的动作、唱《An apple a day》,这样既能集中学生注意力,又能复习旧知,同时营造轻松愉快的课堂氛围。)

 

2.  Lead- in and Revision

   Quick response to review the learned words about food

(设计意图:呈现以前学过的有关食物的图片,让学生抢答。本步骤既是对已学知识的巩固,又是对本课所学新知的铺垫。)

 

3. Presentation&Practice

  Create a situation: Today is Zhang Peng's birthday. He invites his friends to Pizza Hut to celebrate it.

(本步骤营造了一个张鹏邀请他的朋友们在必胜客庆生的情境,激发学生兴趣,让学生在真实情境中学习单词及句型,有利于学生对知识的吸收与掌握,同时通过这个情境把整节课自然地衔接起来。)

 

1Teacher teaches " What would you like?" "I'd like some..."

  Present the dialogue between waiter and Mike " What would you like?" "I'd like some fish" .

  Students guess the meaning according the situation.

  Practise the key sentences in pairs.

 

2) Teacher teaches “chicken”

  Teacher shows the picture , students guess the food.

Students read after the teacher.

Practice: train game

           

3Teacher teaches “beef”

(students listen to the cow's voice to guess "beef" )

Students read after teacher

Practice :pair work

       Practise “chicken”and “beef” through role play

   Waiter:What would you like?

    Customer:I’d like some ____.

    Waiter:Ok.____ yuan ,please.

 

4) Teacher teaches “noodles”

Students guess the food, teacher gives the clue

   Students read after teacher

   Practice:look and say (egg noodles, chicken noodles,beef noodles)

      ask and answer in four(What would you like? I’d like some ___ noodles.)

 

5) Teacher teaches “soup”

  (Teacher imitates the sound of drinking soup, Ss guess the word )

  Students read after the teacher

  Practice: Students read and do the action at the same time      

 

6) Teacher teaches “vegetables”

  (Teacher shows a small part of the picture.Ss guess the word.)

  Students read after teacher.

  Practice: game--high and low voice

  Points out that don't forget "s" in vegetables.

 

7)Emotional teaching:

  Observe the food pyramid.

  A balanced diet can keep us healthy. So let's eat more vegetables! Ok?

  Activity:Can you match? (I'd like some vegetables and ____)

 

(设计意图:运用形式多样的方法来教学和操练单词和句型,以游戏的形式寓教于乐,激发学生学习英语的兴趣,集中学生的注意力,适当的激励机制可以把学生外在的兴趣转变为内在的动力,达到良好的教学效果。)

 

4. Consolidation

  Complete 3 tasks to win free pizza

1)Let’s chant

2)Game--golden miner (complete the words and consolidate their meanings)

3)Group work :Role play

    W: Can I help you?

       What would you like?

A:  Id like some________.

B:  Id like some________.

C:  Id like some________.

W:  OK.____yuan,please.

    A&B&C:  Here you are.

(评价机制:台下学生做小老师评价台上的表演者,若能流利地表演得一个食物,若流利地表演加上动作则得两个食物。最终师生评出最佳表演组和最佳点菜组。)

 

After completing the task,they finally enjoyed the delicious pizza!

 

(设计意图:本步骤设计了三个任务来对本课内容进行巩固和拓展。首先第一个游戏唱一唱将本课的重点单词和句型编成朗朗上口的歌谣,通过反复的强化,进一步巩固重难点。第二个游戏黄金矿工要求学生补全单词,进一步巩固单词的音、形、义,让学生在玩中学,学中玩。最后一个角色扮演游戏,让学生能够把所学用于生活实际,让他们知道现实生活中怎样点餐。而这里的角色扮演旨在调动学生的积极性,通过小组合作表演,让每个学生充分开口练习,从而突破教学难点,培养学生综合语言运用能力和合作精神。)

6.Homework supermarket

   1). Listen and read the words and sentences.

     (听录音,读单词和句子。)

   2). Let's survey

      Make a survey with your friends.Ask them:"What would you like for dinner?"

     (调查你的朋友们,问他们你晚餐想吃什么? 调查表下节课汇报)

(设计意图: 将本课学习的知识通过作业的形式延伸至课堂外的日常生活中,让学生学以致用。)

七.整体设计思路说明

   

    本课设置了Zhang Peng过生日,邀请他的朋友们(Mike,Chen Jie,SarahWu Yifan)来必胜客欢乐餐厅就餐的情境。在学生已学知识的基础上,将新知融于真实情境,操练并学会运用句子:What would you like? I’d like some…, please.同时通过点餐让学生们掌握本课重点单词:chicken,beef, noodles, soup vegetables。本课运用了情境教学法、任务型教学法及多种有趣的游戏(如:我唱你做,开火车,大小声,黄金矿工等)来激发学生学习英语的兴趣,并通过小组活动培养他们的合作精神和综合语言运用能力。情感态度方面通过了解膳食金字塔和食物搭配语用活动,培养学生养成健康的饮食习惯。
